Local Outdoor Events & Weather Safety
If you're headed to the Tianyu Lights Festival at Concord Mills (running through June 22), keep a close eye on weather updates and be prepared to seek shelter if wind gusts pick up tonight. How to Recognize and Inspect Roof Damage After a Storm
Once the storm passes, it’s important to check your property for potential roofing issues. Wind gusts reaching 40 mph may not tear off shingles outright, but they can loosen roofing materials or cause branches to scrape and dent your roof. Wondering what to look for?
- Missing or curled shingles on the roof or scattered in your yard.
- Granules collecting in gutters—a sign shingles are losing their protective layer.
- Dented flashing or vents from airborne debris.
- Branches or large debris sitting on the roof—these can cause serious, hidden leaks.
